Keeping a single small hermit crab?

Post by mysweetcrabs61 » Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:05 pm

I’m totally open to getting more hermit crabs I’m just curious if a single small crab can thrive on its own? I have plenty for it to play with, eat, water is correct, heat is correct etc. I know everyone says “crabs need friends!” But is that true? If not why?

Single crabs can thrive on their own. What used to be thought of as 'social' behavior is now known to be more resource sharing behavior.
