Water tunnel collapse

Post by Pruimenmoes » Sun Jul 14, 2024 7:21 pm

Hi, I have a question about my ruggies.

They were not molting today, as i saw all of them scuttling about. So I decided to clean the top soil and move some decorations in the tank. When I added some new moss and sprayed it I noticed that I had collapsed a few tunnels, but two crabs were nowhere to be seen.

I now fear that they might have gone back into a hole when I was not looking, it then collapsed from me putting moss nearby, which after watering might become very hard to deal with for them...

Are they fine? Or do I need to dig them out?

The soil was a little drier than it should be, but the moss was not placed over the tunnel, though the water might have gotten into it still.

If you think a tunnel has collapsed, and it is the same day that they buried, chances are that they aren't molting yet and you can dig them up.
