Upgrading Tank

Post by brittneykann » Sun Jul 06, 2025 6:03 am

I currently have a 10 gallon tank, I want to upgrade their tank, how do I go about doing this, do I use the same substrate and add more? The 2 crabs are always buried in their substrate, so I don’t know how to get them out without harming them if they are molting.

Any time I have upgraded, I have re-used the old sub and just added more new stuff.
You should wait until you see the crabs above ground. When is the last time they were up?

I see them moving around under the substrate but have never seen them above. I have seen the sand and food a mess but that was a few weeks ago.

Oh geez, never above ground? In that case you may need to take a chance and dig them up. Be prepared to isolate them from each other if they are molting (can be done in just a margarine container put into the main tank so they are separated but in good temp and humidity).
