How big typically do Ecuadorian crabs get? I managed to find a tiny one at a pet store and I’m wondering how big he will grow.

I think most people say they hit around the size of a tennis ball. Pretty big, but definitely not as big as other crabs species.

My largest had a legspan that was just as big as a Jumbo PP, but because they like tiny shells he never seemed that huge because he never took up as much space.

Most Es only survive for a few years in captivity and they don't grow super quick, so it's not a huge worry about their final size if you're getting smaller crabs.

Wow! Everywhere online said that Es dont get any bigger than 1/2 an inch, but I knew that had to be false. Mine is fairly little now, just at 1/2 inch.

Oh wow- I would absolutely love to have an adult E! (I said adult, just mean an older and larger crab!)
But- at the sane time I would feel so bad bc they would have lived on the beach free for many years before having to try to adapt to captivity... I guess unless we can get better about keeping them so that we have less issues losing them... I adore mine and I would love nothing more than to see them grow that big!!

This was my biggest guy. He was absolutely wedged into that shell! And he did that to the edge himself to make room for his eyes. ImageImageImage
