Pine is a bit lethargic
Hello all.
I don't see this as an emergency so I wanted to post here.
Pine has been a tad bit lethargic recently. I think it's because of my heat pads changing, but you never know? Then again, she never has been as active. She is still moving but not as much. I saw her eating and moving around last night. Do you think she will be okay? Should I be worried? She molted last month and is a small-medium size crab.
Thanks. when I pick her up she comes out immediatley , so she isn't sick.

Re: Pine is a bit lethargic
I'm wondering if Pine might be getting ready to molt again, especially if she is on the smaller side. I have a large crab, and he molted 2x within 3 months. When he disappeared I was worried because I thought there was no way he was molting again that soon. But sure enough, when he came up, he had very pointy and hairy legs like he just molted. Do you have any foods available that might give her a boost? Like peanut butter (avoid sugars/hydrogenated oils), bee pollen, or honey? If she's going to molt again, or if she's not feeling 100%, those can be a little picker upper.Pumpkincrab wrote:Hello all.

Pine is small but not so small. Her shell opening is about an inch. Maybe she will molt? IDK. I have been feeding some honey granules which maybe she will like!

That sounds like a good booster food! Keep offering that. I think it's a def possiblity she could be getting ready to molt again. If all your tank conditions are good, I wouldn't worry too much. But I know that's always easier said than done!Pumpkincrab wrote:Pine is small but not so small. Her shell opening is about an inch. Maybe she will molt? IDK. Re: Pine is a bit lethargic
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the help! Maybe she has been cold recently- for a bit I've had a small heat pad that didn't heat the tank well and she would sit, little legs poking out, next to the glass where the pad was stuck. Now that I have correct heat maybe she will be happier!

Re: Pine is a bit lethargic
Update : Pine has not moved at all today. I picked her up and again she came out. I handled her a bit to inspect her but she just... Isn't active. I'm a tad bit worried. Maybe I'm just a crazy worrier.
I'll wait till the morning to see what happens. I'm so worried!
Could it be stress? Heat stays around 79-81 and same with humidity. 7 inches of EE. Plenty of great foods. Tank mates are kind and never aggressive to her. Places to hide.
I have no clue what's up with her... anybody have any past experiences with this situation?
