HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hi!
My 2nd to smallest crab, blackberry, has been doing something very odd.
As being a very small crab, and having larger tankmates, I obviously have larger shells in the tank that only Pine and Pumpkin can fit in. (There are shells in there for the smaller crabs too.)
I have seen BlackBerry recently stick her entire face in a shell three times her size and start to come out of her shell. And just...sit there. with part of her body out of her shell. (Not her abdomen but a part higher up that's vulnerable)
Anybody know what's going on?I

I recently had a crab do the same thing mine kept doing it until she found a shell that she liked which happened to be a bigger shell than she should have. Eventually she switched to a shell that was her size. I wouldn’t worry too much though. Crabs will be crabs. Sometimes our crabs are just weird. Hope you have a wonderful day!
