Looks like pps, is that tank in the first picture where you are keeping them? If so you need to read the care guides on here asap.

No that is not where I am keeping it, I have the correct tank setup as far as I know I have read the care guides and done what I am supposed to do. That was just the best picture I had where you could really see it. That was when I very first got it my sister I law brought him from SC. I posted that picture to ask what kind of crab he was, because I was curious to see if anyone knew because I don’t.

I'm gonna say a Purple Pincher because of the eye stalks. If he ever shows you his big claw, try to crab a pic of that. That always helps with identification too.

Does he look healthy ?? He doesn’t move around to much and stays put most of the time, not curled in his shell but just sitting there. Just chills there pretty much.

He looks good to me. If you just got him, he's probably acclimating to his new surroundings. Basically just destressing by hanging out. It's totally normal.

Yep, that's normal.
I had a crab go under the minute I got her, and I didn't see her again for 7 weeks.

He/She is definitely a pp. He/she looks exactly like my pp Charollete! (exept charolette has a tiny bit deeper colors)

Try to stay hands off and hands out of the aquarium as much as possible. Holding them is incredibly stressful and it takes them out of their proper heat/humidity.

I do understand you were just taking a picture for identification purposes, but the more hands off/hands out you are, the faster your crabs will acclimate.

Thank you for the advice!! I will try and be more hands off!! I do have to open the tank and replace food/water though. I hope that isn’t to stressful.
