Falling out of shell?

Hi everyone,
This morning I noticed our hermit crab, Prudence, acting odd. She seems to be hanging out of her shell a bit], but will retract into her shell when I approach or lift the lid to check on her. It almost seems as if her shell is too heavy for her? She just came up from the 74 day molt in February - could she be getting ready to molt again? I've never quite seen this behavior with any of our crabs before and would love some advice. Thank you!

Is she doing anything else besides hanging out of her shell a little? Mine do that but in a normal way. My large crab put a huge snail shell on that I thought was to big but he kept it on for a while then changed into another he preferred. I've read they normally know what shells they want..do you have other shells slightly smaller but the same shell type? If it's really something your worrying over there is an emergency form that has a bunch of questions under emergency. Thst would prob give everyone a better idea of any issue, if there is one. I know I can worry over stuff for no reason, including my crabs shell change.. I know there are links in other active recant chats too with the emergency care questions.

Sometimes hermit crabs will hang out of their shells a little bit when they are going to poop. Sometimes they hang out of their shell a little bit to sleep. Hermit crabs are weird :) If you are concerned, like previously mentioned, you can fill out the emergency template, and we will be happy to take a look at your tank specs :)
