Is burlap safe for hermit crabs?

Post by wertycow7 » Mon Jan 03, 2022 4:34 pm

I found a type of burlap net at the store. The packaging says that the burlap is 100% natural, but the burlap smells of chemicals and I am not sure if it is safe.

Generally, it is safe. It may be due to the way it was stored (or if it's recycled, anything it came in contact with). A quick wash should and would be a good idea regardless of smell, and see if it still smells after that.
