Keep my hermit crabs warm

I just recently got hermit crabs and I’m having trouble keeping the tank at a steady temperature. I moved there tank to another part of my room and then I regularly have to turn on a heater and a humidifier throughout the day to get it back to temperature. Is there anything else I can do to keep it steady through out the day ?

are you currently using any UTH's they are the usual go to for crabbers to keep the tanks warm enough. Also, what kind of a 'cover' do you have on your tank?

As of right now I don’t have a Uth for them , I use a regular heater to heat up my room but that only heats up the tank for an hour or 2 . Then they have a cage type top . I was going to try putting cardboard with tin foil on top of the tank and punching some holes through it . Don’t know if that will work or not

I would def get a UTH -- you can get from Amazon or the Ultratherms are avail on Bean Farm or Reptile Basics.

Also, make sure that the top is mostly closed off.. if it's a mesh top, seal it with saran wrap even maybe put a folded blanket on top.

Do you have a heat and humidity gauge in there? Is the humidity staying above 75%

if you haven't read it already, this is a great start

The humidity is staying above 75 , I have a gauge in the tank , I just got a humidifier for the tank as well. The regular temperature is what keeps getting so low . I will definitely check out the uth . Thanks for your help
