MIA for over a week but molted two months ago
My son’s hermit crab molted in mid-August. We recently went on vacation for four days, but adult son misted and replaced food and water. Since then Hermy has buried himself and hasn’t come back up (I think). We are still keeping his water fresh and his food replenished. My son has begun to add prayers for Hermy that include, “God, please don’t let Hermy be dead.” What should we do? Nothing? How long can Hermy stay in his substrate without food? We’re still misting daily and put a heater on the outside of the glass crabitat. Temp is 77 degrees, but the heater can’t get it to 80 in there. Is Hermy too cold? Thank you in advance from a worried crab-grandma.

They can stay under for a number of weeks, or even months. You are correct to put water and food out, since you never know when he is going to come back up. Your temp is just fine at 77, he isn't cold. Crabs will molt fairly often when they are small, so it's not surprising that he is down again already.
What is your humidity reading? Just watch that you don't add so much water with misting that you cause a flood.
