HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hi I'm a mom of two very rambunctious hermit crabs
blue and Ike McSheldon.

My boys, Ike and Blue
Keep growing
And to best help them with their needs I need to find out why but before I can do that I need to know what kind of hermit crabs they are,

Ike is a little bigger than a golf ball. Without his shell
Whilst Blue is almost the size of a baseball without his shell and they are still growing
Without his shell Blue is almost 6.5" long
And Ike is about 4" Long without his shell yet they are still growing and blue is actually back in his molting process as of right now
And blue just got done with his

Am I doing something wrong that they are growing so fast and that's why I can't figure out what kind they are???
Because Blue when I first got him which was in March of 2021 so not too long ago was a little smaller than a golf ball, so about half the size of what Ike is currently
And Ike was even smaller

Is there I should be doing or not doing because my boys are getting quite a bit larger than I expected
Even the pet store in which I adopted them from said that they weren't supposed to grow much bigger than the size they were at that point
I guess they where wrong about that
I know that Blue I believe is older I believe
what interests me is that their molting process is different which leads me to believe that they are not the same kind of hermit crab

So if anyone could help me
Or better yet possibly even know what is going on and why that would be greatly appreciated

Please post photos of your crabs, so we can identify the species.

Hermit crabs are going to grow, it’s what happens with good nutrition, but from your description of their sizes their growth rates will likely slow down from here
