Burying a passed on crab in flower/plant pot.

Post by Adamg920 » Sat Aug 12, 2023 5:31 pm

We live in an apartment, and our crab has now passed on after a few years (very suddenly I should add). We've read online about folks burying their buddies in a flower/house plant pot.

This sounds like a great idea for us, however I was wondering if anyone has experience with this? We have two cats and are worried about any possible smell. We just want this to be an easy as possible process.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Sorry about the loss of your crab buddy.

I lost my crab, Coraline, a while back and placed her little body in the pot of my fav cactus plant. I've prolly had this plant for at least 4 years. Once she was under the dirt, I never smelled anything. I don't have cats, but I have 2 dogs, and they never noticed. If any of my other crabs should pass away, I'll do the same thing. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the response. I'm glad there hasn't been an issue.. We've just buried him in a nice pot with Forget-Me-Not seeds.

That sounds like the perfect little burial.
