So I have an Empty 10 gallon and I’m wondering if I can put two small crabs in the tank for awhile. Just until Christmas when I get a bigger tank. (I don’t have a job right now unfortunately and moneys tight.) i will purchase shells from Etsy (I already have some turbos) and I have some food from Etsy and all I need is instant ocean from petco. I’ll have the substrate deep. Will this work? I already keep reptiles so I have food bowls, water bowls and some UNUSED decor. And coco fiber and playsand.

If your crabs are smaller, then a ten gallon will work just fine. I had my two crabs in a ten gallon for the first 2 or 3 years, then upgraded to a 20 gallon that I used for another 2 or 3 years. Those tanks didn't even have lids, I just used plastic wrap taped over top! Then I lucked into a 40 gallon for free!
If you are on a budget, you can feed your crabs scraps of what you eat and then just supplement with a few things you buy just for them if you want. They can eat meat, fruits, veggies, grains, rice, nuts, seeds, eggs (including the shells), leaves, etc! And play sand is cheaper than coco fiber, so you can use more or it (or all play sand if you want).
