Plants
If I put plants in my hermit crab tank, will the crabs ruin the plants?

Re: Plants
plants in hermit crab tanks don't usually last long, and will likely get destroyed and/or eaten. I have had luck with spider plants and pothos, but the spider plants get eaten pretty quick.

Re: Plants
Thank you! I probably won't put my favorite flowering plants in there then
(like my orchid!)
I'll try those plants soon!

Re: Plants
oh, and I usually put my plants in pots before I put them in the hermits crab tank so the roots don't overtake the tank. I just use little terracotta pots or those fabric things.

Re: Plants
Thank you! I suppose that would also make it easy to remove a plant if you ever changed your mind about it

You don't have to worry about roots overtaking the tank, crabs can just chew through the roots if they come across them.Hermitsandplants wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 10:17 amoh, and I usually put my plants in pots before I put them in the hermits crab tank so the roots don't overtake the tank.
