Color of legs after molt
My crab pina emerged today from molt of one month she appears healthy and happy but one of her legs is bright red and the rest are tan with purple hues is it normal for one limb to be red and the rest another color ?

@isadoraisacat This should be fine, some of my crabs have odd colors like that. The only other thing I could think of would be the molt not being entirely complete, but that's highly unlikely. A picture would help determine if it's a problem, but don't sweat it now.

Re: Color of legs after molt
Every time i try to get a photo.she hides. Her leg just seems.to have more red where as.all.her others are tan with purpleish. Her claw. Is almost a.dark neon purple. Its.surreal how bright she is after a molt. Mango came up a few.days before her and he's basically brownish in color. Baja came up bright too but even orange / red and bright purple claw. Pitch came up pretty bright red too but all.his legs are.red where as pina just has one red leg. I'm sure it's nothing wrong maybe i never noticed because it wasn't this bright until a molt?IMS08 wrote:@isadoraisacat This should be fine, some of my crabs have odd colors like that. Nah, I won't think anything of it. At most, when she goes down again and comes back up I imagine that she will take more of a reddish hue over her body.

Yeah it's just odd because she's mostly tan and purple with just one bright red leg. Does the color enhancing foods really work ? Maybe i should try that to help bring out the purples she has in her other legs.aussieJJDude wrote:Nah, I won't think anything of it. Yes color enhancing works if you go to hermies kitchen via etsy. She sells anxsythia powder (however you spell it lol). Mix with their food and you should have beautiful dark crabs. Though i think it's the hcp that had the red AND the blue. You can choose which hues you want to come out more!isadoraisacat wrote:Yeah it's just odd because she's mostly tan and purple with just one bright red leg. Yes hcp has it too. I think there is a purple enhancer what i really want is to bring it the hues differently in each crab because each one seems to have a different overall hue going on.KayedeeLove<3 wrote:Yes color enhancing works if you go to hermies kitchen via etsy. It is probably the armor leg, which is the back left.
