Is French Fry dead?

I recently moved two crabs into a much larger, new enclosure. Snappy I have had for over a decade, but french fry is a rescue who arrived the same day I moved Snappy into the big tank.

French fry was pale, missing the tips of his legs, and very shy for the first few weeks.

Both Snappy (about the size of my hand) and french fry (barely bigger than a quarter) went down to molt at about the same time in October.

Snappy emerged last week and is up and about and eating well, but French Fry has yet to make an appearance. He was looking kind of rough when I got him. From what I understand the larger ones take longer to molt, so I expected him to be up before Snappy?

Is it possible he is taking so long because he is de-stressing and healing?

Yeah, it's possible he's just taking longer. Also possible he didn't have the energy to make it through the molt. IMHO, there is no harm in waiting longer - but there could be harm in digging him up. So I would wait a while longer, if it was me.

I figured. I’ll update if he appears.
