September - November are molting seasons for Indonesian land hermit crabs. Yesterday I caught one of my female large indo molted.

Voilà ... there she is after back into service.
The orange leg beside the right pincer is a newly grown leg:

Sunset = Komurasaki = Coenobita violascens

Sunrise = light phased Coenobita perlatus ( "C.pseudorugosus" is a misidentification by a Japanese scientist since he had never seen light / candy-striped colored strawberries ).

So that's what I have to look forward to?????
