Apple snail shells- any good for PPs??

Hi crabbers, saw a really good deal on some apple snail shells. They looked thicker/studier than your run of the mill land snail shell. Any one here think its worth buying or stick with turbos? My guys have worn whale eyes which seem flimsy compared to turbos but favor the snakeskin turbo. Once i upgrade to the 40g ill have a lot more room for bigger/more shell shops. Just spitballin

If you have larger E's maybe. If they are cheap enough to get a few, they're worth a shot.

I found a place that has Mexican turbos for $1.00 each locally. Planning on stocking up next time I go by.

I really need more large (1.25"-1.75") shells because some of my guys have grown lately.

Gosh no, ive got 3 PPs who seem to favor snakeskin turbos. But the price was really good. (Certinaly not a buck each) I was looking to give them more variety but i should just stick w the kind they favor. Thanks SG

I got a bag of the Mexican turbos (fluctuosos I think) from Wodesorel last year and as soon as I put them in the tank, every PP within size range was wearing one.

My boys all love to wear the same shell, color type, etc. This kinda stinks for me bc i gotta have a ton of the same kind or they will slapfight over 1. Crabs are weird.

I get mexican turbos for $1/3 (yes, that was blatant bragging), from a fish store that sells the snails & then just chucks the shells of any that die in this cheap shell bin.

My PPs really seem to dig how light they are!

Care to share where?! (I'm in Dallas) I can't find big turbos anywhere! My 2 PP's are in the 2 biggest shells I have. They try on the next biggest few nightly but always go back to the ones they're in. Surfi (my second largest) used to be happy with the largest shell until Big Mama discovered that it was, indeed, the largest and stole it from her.

Rock Barrell. 635 and TI Blvd. Go north on TI Blvd a few lights up and Rock Barrel will be in a strip center after the wood working place, on the right. I forget the cross street.

They have different shells sometimes. Murex, magpie, babylon, and turbos have been the only crab friendly IIRC.

Do you know if this listing is still up? I could always use a few extra shells for Elvis (even though I already have a handful)
