Shrimp, mealworms, lentils, barley, black sesame seeds, dulse and sea lettuce, broccoli, hibiscus, cuttle dusting, and a side of comb honey and peanut butter. I also threw some toasted oak leaves and and kelp chunks in the tat too for snacks. I bet theyre gonna like that comb honey. Image

I think I will be serving steamed clams tonight. Haven't offered that in a while so they should be well received!

My recipe for leaf litter:

Catappa leaves, oak leaves, crushed acorns, earthworm castings and flax seeds. Got this idea from Canadian Crab Connection. I looked to see how to make my own leaf litter and read that it was important crabs have access to it at all times.

wow that sounds yummy. have you made it yet? are you doing anything special to any of the leaves like toasting or drying or are you just tossing them in there?

Rosieonfire, yes I made it. I did not do anything special to the leaves. I took some of the decor out of my tank and sprinkled it on the sub.

I cut a piece off of a U10 scallop for crabbies last week and my husband was like "I thought you were gonna make scallops for me" LOL

Just got in a package from GotButterflies (sorry, I'm not sure what the etsy store name is... the healthy hermit?)! Were trying out a little bit from the lamb dinner mix, the walk in the woods mix and the from the sea mix, along with some sweet gum crumbs, bloodworms, glauconite, powdered Icelandic kelp, freeze dried raspberries and chamomile. Thanks for all the goodies GB, can't wait to try out all the samples!Image

Friday a co-worker had crayfish for lunch, and i took a piece from her thrown away pile. Watermelon had a feast! :)
When i saw him started dragging the crayfish i thought he wanted to drag it to a hidden place to eat. but turned out he just wanted to get to the meaty parts inside the shell.
