Looking to get more freeze dried shrimp and blood worms. Any recommendations for stores and brands? Only had Petsmart around me and they have Flukers Medley treat for aquatic turtles ($8.49 for 1.5oz), Flukers freeze dried shrimp ($9.99 for 1oz) and zoo med red shrimp ($11.99 for 5oz).

All of those are safe. You can also use frozen which are used for fish as well. From what I understand, use a spoon when handling bloodworms, as soon people can have a bad reaction to them

Do you have access to a walmart at all? They carry a very inexpensive dried shrimp food (I pay $1.67 a jar for it). I will take a pic of it and post the specifics when I get home

Actually, yes! I have a Walmart down the street from me. I would prefer to buy from Walmart rather than Petsmart

Is there a particular section in Walmart I should look?

Look in the fish section; all of the single ingredient foods are acceptable sources of protein (and I am using most of them).
I ise the All Living Things turtle medley with my hermit crabs; it's a diverse source of protein and makes for a great base for food mixes.

The dried shrimp that Walmart carries is Wardley's -- it's about $3 for a canister and is great for both serving "as is" or grinding up to add to a dry mix. Either way, the crabs love it!
Walmart also carries Tetra freeze-dries bloodworms for under $5. As @GotButterflies mentioned, allergic reactions to bloodworms is quite common so either carefully shake out the bloodworms into the feeding bowl or use a small plastic spoon that can be dedicated to the bloodworms. If I've added bloodworms to their food, when I clean out the food bowl I'll first use a tissue or paper towel to wipe it out over the garbage just to make sure I'm not coming directly into contact with any possible remnants.

Some people have allergic reactions to the blood worms.

You can also quickly develop an allergy to them if you have a lot of exposure. They are just one of those things that us hoomans don't do well with. The crabs love em though.

Interesting. I didn't know Walmart carried hermit crab food.
(just a second while I check the ingredients)
