Canned protein
For those of you who have used canned proteins (mealworms, river shrimp, crickets, etc), how long is it good for in the fridge once it's been opened? The Fluker's brand river shrimp are a definite favorite for my crabs, but given how little they eat, it'll be ages before they finish the container, and I don't want to make them sick by giving it to them if it goes bad. Any suggestions?

Re: Canned protein
I've read two weeks, but I'm not sure how correct that is. They start smelling worse pretty quick.
I spread them out on a cookie sheet and freeze, and then bag them once they're solid so they don't stick together. That way it stays good for a year and I can take out what I need without any going to waste.
