Do I need to soften "hard" foods?

Post by Maddamay32 » Wed Aug 07, 2019 11:11 am

Do I need to cook "hard" foods like beans, lentils, potatoes, etc? I figured the wouldn't be cooked in the wild but just wanting to make sure before I test them out on the crabbies.

No need to soften them up. Their pinchers can do a good job of breaking up food.

The humidity in the tank adds moisture to the hard foods.

I try things both ways to see if they have a preference.

I just grind everything up powder like and serve dry and then I give a smaller dish of fresh foods everyday

I grind up lentils and pinto beans into a powder using a coffee grinder.

I’m a vegetarian - so I usually just give the crabs the beans I soften for myself. :)
