Popcorn fanatics!

My crabbies are popcorn fanatics! I have one crab that is always hiding under the substrate except for possibly at night when I don't see him and tonight I put some popcorn in and turned the lights off. I just went back in to see if they had done anything with it and found that my shy guy had almost immediately tunneled out, grabbed a piece, and took it back into his hideout! My husband and I were cracking up!

Mine are also popcorn fanatics

How do you prepare your popcorn? I prepare it plain, remove a few popcorn for the crabs, and after that I only salt mine.
When feeding popcorn (what I do once a month or so) I always check their hideouts as far as possible (don't dig, but try to look into and e.g. remove it with tweezers) to prevent growing of mold from hidden food.

How funny! I'll have to try giving my little guy some popcorn next movie night! (Un-seasoned and un-buttered, of course!)

Mine have always loved popcorn. When they were small, and the food bowls never seemed to be touched, popcorn was the only thing that disappeared completely!

Popcorn is always a hit! When I haven't seen anybody for awhile and I wonder if they are still alive, I put popcorn in and it's always gone! I pop organic in coconut oil. Always organic for the crabbies!

Mine are also popcorn fanatics - every few months or so I air pop a batch, grind it roughly in the food processor, and then divide out cup-sized amounts and mix those each up with different amendments (e.g., one batch gets mixed with kelp powder, bee pollen, coconut, powdered cuttlebone, and ground freeze-dried krill; another batch with dehydrated powdered berries, millet, bee pollen, powdered egg shells, dehydrated kale, ground freeze-dried crickets, and so on). That way I know when I give them a popcorn treat, if they only go for that over the more nutritionally-dense foods, they’re also getting nutrients

I've thought about tossing the popcorn in some powdered foods. I'm going to give it a try!

Do you only pop what you need for your crabs from a bulk store? I've only seen microwave popcorn in buttered bags...

You can also buy a bag of kernels.

I always save some when we pop a bowl for ourselves. We buy the bags of kernels and use a hot air popper.
