I have a hermit crab that when he molted he is not as dark anymore. I was wondering on what should I feed him to get his dark coloring back??

I think it's normal for a crab's coloring to become brighter, lighter of just to change after molting. I don't think any food could make it change

They will always change colors! With molts, age, diets..don't worry! That's another great thing about crabs! Sometimes when they come up, you don't recognize them because they have grown and changed!

Just make sure to provide a healthy diet with calcium, proteins, veggies, fruits, grains, etc! But as Xenocrab and avamin2005 said, crabs can seem lighter when they come up. My one PP came up and he was super pink! Now he's a light tan though, and is getting his purple back!

Xeno and I have noticed our crabs that eat lots of tree bark, and leaves that have lots of tannins tend to be much darker. Like she said their colors can change every molt. It's more about offering them a well balanced diet all the time to be sure they stay healthy. Since every crab has their own favorite foods their colors will vary naturally.
Here is our guide for nutrition that explains nutrients and associated foods and also the different food groups. The only thing we do slightly different is to offer all food groups daily. We believe they should have access to everything all the time.
