1. Where can I find Spirulina? (All I can find are the vitamin pills)
2. Is it a type of seaweed?
3. Can I just give my crabbies seaweed instead?

Right now i give them strips of Big Al's Seaweed Delight Green Marine Algae. The ingredients are: 100% Natural Dried Seaweeds (Marine Macroalgae) The Guaranteed Analysis is Crude Protein (min) 31%
Crude Fat (min) 4%
Crude Fiber (max) 8%
Moisture (max) 8%
Ash (max) 8%

I want to make sure that I give them the best diet possible

If you find the spirulina capsules that open in a health food store you can just use the powder inside, otherwise you should be able to find it either in flake form in a pet store selling fish supplies (check on preservatives), or order it on line. It is a seaweed, and yes other seaweed is also good for them too, but spirulina is kind of a super seaweed.

Yep, spirulina is a blue-green algae and one of the first life forms on the Earth. :) It's the founder of photosynthesis.

Very pure food and loaded with good vitamins for the land hermit crabs. My favorite site is Mountain Rose Herbs because you get a lot of it for a great price. :)

if you can find a health food store they often sell it in bulk :}} some have several different kinds of seaweeds in bulk, and lots of other stuff like bee pollen and such. :}
