Acu-rite meter
Acu-rite meter
Got the meter today, it's rather large, am checking the calibration along with one of the analogs. Now, placement. I understand it needs to be somewhat close to the substrate, but for the thermometer part, should it be on the back wall? The heater should arrive in the next few days and I was going to place it on the back wall. Or should I do a partial wrap around? One side and back? So many questions, I know.
I can hear my 75g whispering from the barn.

So go ahead and stick the meter on the back wall in front of the heater? I do have analogs I plan to stick on the ends, just so I get the whole picture.

Attached to what? Doesn't the meter attach to the glass of the tank? So heater would be on the outside glass and meter would go on the inside glass, yes?

Re: Acu-rite meter
Hang the heater on the back wall above the sub, use tape (I used clear duct tape) to attach it. Do not wrap your heater around the corner, you could risk breaking the heating mechanism and starting a fire. Place the meter in the middle of the crabitat. It does not need to attach to the wall, much less anything. GB suggested to get it off the sand to avoid sand getting into it and breaking it, so I set mine on top of a hide (an upside down salad strainer with a doorway cut out).

Thanks, will attach it so something, right now it's laying on the maple limb at the fork. Maybe I'll get a shorter maple fork and just stick it down in the substrate, then it will be easily movable and if I velcro it to, they can also climb it.
