Spray foam background? Edit: documenting my tank build here!
Re: Spray foam background? Edit: documenting my tank build h
He's also doing suspicious shell changing. He's always been one to pick a shell and stick with it for a year, and he keeps swapping back and forth with a particular turbo shell. I'm onto him. He just needs to hold off until my husband gets home and can help me lift the tank.
The last molter still throws a wrench in my plan, the new tank is going where the old tank is. It would be a lot nicer to move it without so much sub, but I'm kind of stuck. If I wait for him to surface someone else is bound to go down, I'm lucky to have 4/5 above ground as it is. I'm going to remove the hardscape and have my husband help me lift it and carefully move it a few feet to the other shelf.

Halfway there! We moved the 20 without incident, Bruce is so far still above ground. I need to attach the UTH, decorate and figure out how to seal up the back of the glass tops-the plastic strip is gone.

Thanks, she's cute but she's a holy terror - the crabs will tell you.
It's mostly done! I need to do some for minor fiddling, and I think I'd like to get a half log, but the hard part is over

Wow!! Very Impressive!! I don't know how I missed this thread!!
A few things I would like to mention - I personally think your airstones are a little large. I would just use the ball air stones. I think that those long ones will create too many bubbles and overspray in your tank
As far as the plastic strip on the back - You can order one of those online!! If you know the brand of your lid, look that up
There are a few different brands out there, but even if yours doesn't make one you could probably order another brand and make it work
Once again - beautifully done!

I didn't see any airstones or tubing for that matter. Are you talking about the blue long things propped in the corner of pools? That's blue colored cholla. I've seen them red, green, and blue....GotButterflies wrote: ... A few things I would like to mention - I personally think your airstones are a little large. I would just use the ball air stones. Need to order back strip immediately!!!!
I had just gotten home from work to find my daughter extremely upset - she was walking down the hall and accidentally kicked an escaped hermit crab down the steps!! She grabbed him and ran him to my husband who put him back in the tank. He appears to be ok, he's resting. The light fixture was covering part of the back opening and I thought it was secure. Either a cat, a kid or a freakishly strong crab moved it and made an opening. I can see 4/5 of the crabs so I'm not certain if the fifth one escaped too and is loose in the house. I sealed up everything with duct tape and triple checked it. I'm trying to listen for any movement around the room, although the other one got pretty far out of the room and down the hall.

I had a crab escape into the floorboards for almost a day and he ended up recovering. Yours should be fine assuming everything else in the tank is ok which it looks like it is.
I have been thinking about doing a Great Stuff background of some kind but I heard mixed reviews on it, glad to see a success story with it.
