Hanging Coconut Hut

Post by AwesomeHermit » Wed Dec 06, 2017 7:20 pm

I got a hanging coconut hit, and it seems good, for I don't know how I would hang it up.

Maybe use command hooks? Ziptie onto decor (or screen lid?)

I used twine and aquarium suction cups. I would post a pic but my brain can’t seem to figure out how.

I bought one of those too. I cut it into pieces. I put the whole coconut on the substrate and filled it with moss. Then, I took the 1/2 of the coconut that "covered" it, and put leaf litter and other dried treats in it. They love it :)
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

I drilled a hole in my acrylic lid & passed the jute twine (that the hut hangs from) through, then tied a large knot that wouldnt get pulled through. With a glass drilling bit, you can do the same to glass (unless its tempered - tempered glass will shatter if messed with). And wood or plastic is no problem.

Only downside is a permanent hole where you decide to hang things (though you could plug it if you wanted to I suppose), and a thing hanging from the lid which, depending on the nature of your lid, could impede the way it opens - mine are just on a hinge, so it's not really a problem.
