Insulation material
Insulation material
Hi everyone! Happy New Year!
I have adopted two crabbies and finding myself need to tweak current heating options.
Has anyone tried this over Ultratherm? https://smile.amazon.com/Noico-waterpro ... ation+foam
Would you recommend? Or should I stick with Reflectix?
Thank you!

Re: Insulation material
I do, because it helps to reflect the heat back into the tank.

Re: Insulation material
I love Reflectix personally - It is easy to remove and reuse year after year. It can be pricey - especially for a new crabber. Reflectix can be hung with packaging tape or reflectix tape.
You can also use Cardboard, aluminum foil (shiny side facing towards the tank) and styrofoam. This can be done in layers. If you have a Zilla heater, do not cover it - those are already insulated. Please cut around that
Edit: Reflectix is about $15/$16 for a large roll - I can do all 4 of my crabitats with one roll and have extra left over.

Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

Our Home Depot has smaller rolls for under $15 IIRC.GotButterflies wrote:I love Reflectix personally - It is easy to remove and reuse year after year. It can be pricey - especially for a new crabber. Reflectix can be hung with packaging tape or reflectix tape.
