Getting back in the groove! (+ a question)

Post by hermitcrabdc » Thu Feb 01, 2018 7:20 pm

After thinking things over following two crab deaths, I've decided to get my tank back to par and hopefully get some new crabs here soon. I considered calling it quits but I've put so much time and money into the crabbies that I don't think I could bring myself to do it :) Plus I'd miss hearing then clanking around the tank at 4 in the morning, haha.
Anyway, Luca seems to be doing okay. I think he's due for a molt here soon, he's been very sluggish and is looking very ashy.
So, before I find him any friends, I need to get the tank redecorated and such. I have one question before I can do anything. There's this green stuff in the sand. Should I replace the sand or is it okay?

Looks like algae, which isn’t harmful at all. Algae grows in my tank on occasion, and it’s usually just on the top layer of substrate along the glass so I just wipe it away. Good luck on the redecorating!
