When will I need to upgrade?

Post by ROSIEonFIRE » Sun Jan 28, 2018 12:01 pm

Hey guys! I have a 43gal tat with 5 medium to medium largish sized PPs. Assuming nothing goes wrong in the next few years and nobody dies, how long do u all think it might be before I have to upgrade?

Also my boyfriend told me he thinks I should put a picture of myself in the tank so the crabs can worship me.

That last part. Funny!! I also have 5 crabs I guess medium. I just upgraded from a 40 gal breeder to a 90 gal. The 40 had their holes all over the place. I hardly had space to put the food dish. So I got a great deal on the 90 with a stand on the offerup app.
raising son's dog, Dante. Husky/hound.
Raising daughter's hermit crabs, Shelder, Paras and Derek. Added 2 more of my own (of course) Pete and Stryper. Former mommy to 2 guinea pigs and beloved cat, Nissi

My mediums went to borderline jumbo between one molt and 5 years. It really comes down to how fast yours end up growing and how much safe molting space you have available for them. I wish there was an easier way to gauge it! I think you should be good for around 2 to 3 years, but you could also randomly end up with 5 borderline jumbos by then!

Won’t be too long before my biggest becomes a jumbo. His legs are at the halfway mark of the large section on the scaling chart. If he takes up my entire palm, then he’s just a years away!
