Ocean Direct Live Sand

Post by crabby33 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 11:35 pm

I bought this sand on my birthday last year because I thought I could use it for my crabs but I ended up using some play sand I had at my mom's house. I got into an argument with someone in another group over this sand because I wanted to use it and they were begging me not to because of the live bacteria. I took it upon myself to leave that group before things got ugly. This is sand harvested from the ocean floor. I am planning to give it to my mom so she can take it to garage sale at our church. My question is... how long would it take for the bacteria to start to rot in a dry environment? Honestly, I would prefer to just get rid of it than take the risk and use it anyway.

It will start to rot quickly, but I believe the bags also have an expiration date because they are wet packed. Good that you didn't use it for the crabs.
