Decoration glue

Post by Hermiesguardian » Wed May 23, 2018 4:35 pm

I've wanted to buy this type of decoration before but wasn't sure about the base. It looks like it's sealed in glue. But today I thought maybe it's aquarium glue and would be safe. What do you think?Image

Well, often times there are unsafe aquarium decorations too!
Manufacturers and companies like to make the plant pleasing to the buyer, not actually what is functional.

Personally, I stay away from decorations like that, just to be safe.

If it is at a pet store, and it is sold for aquariums, then it is probably safe. :)

If it is aquarium safe, I consider it crab safe - so long as they don't start picking at it. Those types of decor are almost always molded plastic or epoxy resin!

Edit: waiting for his bottle to warm!

Thank you GB and Wode! The base I would bury so just the plant is above ground.

I like Mac’s Driftwood plants, they are anchored in grapewood, that makes an extra decorative touch to any crabitat :)

So long as plants are genuinely colored, not painted, they will be safe to use :)
