go to home depot and get an "egg crate light diffuser" and cut it to fit. I wrapped it with seran wrap and it makes a great lid! they can climb all over it, and with the seran wrap it holds humidity.

Would the crabs destroy the Saran Wrap? Otherwise, sounds like a great idea.

I laid the seran wrap across the top, and taped it just enough under the edges to hold. That way they can climb all over the bottom but the seran wrap is across the top. If you need pics I'll post some, sorry I'm terrible at explaining stuff

Ooooh. I thought you meant that the Saran Wrap was in the inside part of the lid

I like to use taped together freezer bags, or thick plastic dropcloths on the outside of the lid. That way sharp toes aren't as likely to make little holes.
