Need info plz

My family and I are newish (6 months) to this. We bought our 2 crabs from a beach store in myrtle beach. I didn't even know ppl had hermit crabs as pets before that moment!! Anyway, our male, Q-bert, has been acting strange the last week. He has always dug in everyday. Hes stopped going under the surface. He seems sluggish. Or slow. Hes tearing through the mesh screen on top of our terrarium. Idk whats going on. I'm worried about him. Any helpful advice???
