This is where you discuss the conditions of your crabitat -- temperature, humidity, substrate, decorating, etc.

Spiders In The Tank

Post by jonathon1989 » Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:51 am

Hello,

So, I recently noticed spider webs forming in the coconut hut but thought maybe they were mold growth but then my suspicions were confirmed when I saw a small spider in the tank, crawling down from the hood. I don't know if the spiders are harmful to the crabs but regardless I want to prevent them from getting into the tank.

Any suggestions?

I get tiny ones sometimes, but they never seem to cause any problems.

Spiders follow food. If there’s nothing there for it to eat it’ll eventually leave.

I guess the spiders might help if you have a lot of aphids.
