First off, I've learned so much from this forum! So thankful this exists!
I'm working on getting my tank to the setup I want. I've decided I want to double my substrate. It's currently 3 times as deep as my biggest crab, but I figured I'd go ahead and double it and then it would be even better. But, my crabs are still relatively new, and they spend most of their time buried. I'm pretty sure 2 are not molting, I've seen them both out within the last week. But my newest addition I haven't seen since I added him.
How do I safely add substrate without disturbing anyone that is buried?
Adding substrate
Re: Adding substrate
most crabbers on here will follow the inch per day rule
you can up to an inch of substrate per day as long as you are not packing it down or anything like that
and obviously wet it to the right consistency before putting it in the tank

Re: Adding substrate
Since you are adding so much, maybe wait a few days between applications?
