what to use to insulate to keep temp high

Thank you all so much for the advice! I emailed reptile basics and asked about adding the reflectix insulation around the heat tape and explained my situation. I should hear back from them shortly.

Good luck with the promotion!!! (And the heating situation lol). I am now having the opposite problem...keeping humidity up. Hasn’t fallen drastically but having the larger tank and the mixed substrate is a tad different from mostly EE. I find myself misting a lot more.

Same. I have bubblers in both pools but my humidity isn't staying as high as I'd like.
Do you have moss? I've read that moss pits help with humidity. Home depot has all kinds of organic moss in their garden section. I ordered from TheHealthyHermit on etsy though. Lol
I had to mist today because I was in there changing out some stuff and the humidity dropped. I sprayed a lot just to be safe so I'll see where it's at in the AM when I get off.

I don’t have much moss in the new tank yet but have some on order and maybe a ride to Home Depot is in order too! I ordered a bunch of food from Healthy Hermit!!

Hahaha, mine doesn't even ask anymore. He sees packages and just sets them on the table for me when I wake up. And he definitely knows not to ask how much I spent!

My one son, his gf has hermits and he keeps teasing me that I’m overdoing it because hers have survived over a yr with VERY subpar conditions. Agreed considering where they came from! We lost 2 but I know it was due to PPS...the most lively guy I have was from the fair recently and he came from even worse conditions than our original 2...I’m VERY hopeful with him...no signs of stress despite having been in such crap conditions there. Worse than a pet store even! he might hunker down a day but the next he is out and about!

We are both pretty bad with crab stuff. I can't think of one thing we actually need for them but we always seem to find something. We always joke around saying how ungrateful our crabs are when the scurry away or stay buried all the time!
