How to clean fake plants?

Post by Not All Who Wander » Sun Jun 25, 2017 6:56 pm

I just bought three fake plants from Petco. The stems are plastic, the leaves are silk, and the "bottom" I think is stone with paint on it. How do I clean these? They don't smell chemical-y but the stone rubs stuff off whenever I touch them. I'm afraid if I boil them the plastic will melt, but I'm scared to just stick them with my crabs without cleaning it.

I would spray with a vinegar/declorinated water mix and rinse well with declor water. Is it meant for fishes?

I just rinse well under running g water. You'll want to scrub off anything that is loose!

No, they are for my hermit crabbies. They were in the reptile section, the ones in the fish section weren't strong enough if the crabs ever wanted to climb up them.

Thank you! I am sure my crabs thank you as well. :)
