I keep getting the wrong sand for my hermit crab tank. I don't know which one to use. What kind of sand do I get ?

Are you talking about the tiny rocks in the sand? I believe as long as it's playsand, the rocks will be fine enough to be ok. :)

Yes (: I was just confused because it looks like this and can you wet the sand to keep it moist ?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure I have linked the care guides for you before. Please take some time to read them and go through them. This will really help you to know what is safe or not for the crabs and how to set up a tank.

Your substrate needs to be moist and hold its shape like a sandcastle for the crabs.

Those aren't "rocks", that is what playsand looks like in some areas, it won't always look like stereotypical beach sand. Are you west of the Mississippi river? The closer you get to the Pacific Ocean the darker the playsand becomes, which is fine! Only those of us in the Eastern half of the continent have access to the bright white kind, unless you were to hunt it down and pay more for some that has been trucked in. Sand is mined all over the place and due to the weight isn't shipped very far from it's source so there are variations in color and size. However, playsand is used for children so no matter where it comes from it is cleaned, screened, washed and monitored for bad things!
