Hi everyone! Happy New Year!

I have adopted two crabbies and finding myself need to tweak current heating options.

Has anyone tried this over Ultratherm? https://smile.amazon.com/Noico-waterpro ... ation+foam

Would you recommend? Or should I stick with Reflectix?

Thank you!

Reflectix, or cardboard and aluminum foil.

Oh yeah, forgot about cardboard! Does it need to be used with foil?

I do, because it helps to reflect the heat back into the tank.

I love Reflectix personally - It is easy to remove and reuse year after year. It can be pricey - especially for a new crabber. Reflectix can be hung with packaging tape or reflectix tape.

You can also use Cardboard, aluminum foil (shiny side facing towards the tank) and styrofoam. This can be done in layers. If you have a Zilla heater, do not cover it - those are already insulated. Please cut around that :)

Edit: Reflectix is about $15/$16 for a large roll - I can do all 4 of my crabitats with one roll and have extra left over.

Our Home Depot has smaller rolls for under $15 IIRC.
