More Substrate!

Post by piratetoothgir » Fri May 18, 2018 2:20 pm

Yesterday, I decided to add more substrate :)
I started my 55 gallon with eleven inches which settled into eight in a few months.

I only added half an inch, I do have a large down for a molt right now, just wanted to take it easy.
When she comes up this summer, I will take all the wood and pools out, then cover the entire bottom until I reach fourteen inches.

Here are some photos of the substrate!

I am having a substrate issue, it’s not staying moist.
My humidity is 99% and the temperature fluctuates from 82 - 88 through the day. My UTH is also unplugged for most of the summer, it’s too hot.

I can’t help but to gawk at your pictures, lovely job decorating your tank!!
The top layer of substrate tends to dry out a bit, but below the top inch or so should stay moist.
