Moss Pit + Shell Thing
So I noticed that since my moss pit is near my heater, I noticed that it would dry out. Can I put shells over the moss without the crabs digging into the moss and being stuck at the bottom?

Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

They won’t get stuck, they are supposed to dig in the mossAwesomeHermit wrote:So I noticed that since my moss pit is near my heater, I noticed that it would dry out. Can I put shells over the moss without the crabs digging into the moss and being stuck at the bottom?

I have mine perpendicular from my heater, and it doesn’t dry out too fast. My crabs like to go all to the bottom and push the moss out of the caddy.
I wouldn’t worry if it dries, just means you’ll have to spray it down again more often than usual.

I mean that they will dig down and push shells aside and when they want to get up they get stuck under the shellsStellaCrab wrote:They won’t get stuck, they are supposed to dig in the mossAwesomeHermit wrote:So I noticed that since my moss pit is near my heater, I noticed that it would dry out. Like Stella said, they won't get stuck under shells. I presume you don't have them stacked ten deep or anything!

Just be aware that moss will ruin the polished finish on shells. If you've bought fancy ones, don't do it!
