Moss Pit + Shell Thing

Post by AwesomeHermit » Fri Jun 08, 2018 8:36 pm

So I noticed that since my moss pit is near my heater, I noticed that it would dry out. Can I put shells over the moss without the crabs digging into the moss and being stuck at the bottom?

Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

They won’t get stuck, they are supposed to dig in the moss :)
I have mine perpendicular from my heater, and it doesn’t dry out too fast. My crabs like to go all to the bottom and push the moss out of the caddy.

I wouldn’t worry if it dries, just means you’ll have to spray it down again more often than usual.

I mean that they will dig down and push shells aside and when they want to get up they get stuck under the shells

Like Stella said, they won't get stuck under shells. I presume you don't have them stacked ten deep or anything!

Just be aware that moss will ruin the polished finish on shells. If you've bought fancy ones, don't do it!
