Adding substrate
Adding substrate
My substrate has settled and it ended up being about 3 inches lower than I wanted it to be. I think two of my crabs are molting (hopefully!) because I haven’t seen them in a few weeks and I normally see them all out together. Should I wait until my two crabs come up or would it be okay to add more substrate while they’re down?

Re: Adding substrate
You can add an inch of new substrate every 24 hours, but don’t pack it down.

Re: Adding substrate
While adding the 1 inch per 24 hours, I don’t recommend pulling anything out of the substrate for fear of collapsing tunnels that are underneath. I also don’t recommend pushing anything into the substrate.
