Re: Heater
The best places to get an Ultratherm is either beanfarm.com or reptilebasics.com. and you would get a size that fits the back of the tank. From top to top of substrate.Hermie escape artist wrote:Best place to buy the heating pad for the tank ? Is there a specific kind ?? Need to go asap prob today

Re: Heater
I purchased both of my heaters from Amazon, and they both work wonderfully. I don't have a specific preference for brand, but the type I use now is ZooMed. I have a 30-gallon heater and a 5-gallon heater on alternate sides of my tank. Honestly, it gets the job done very well.

Re: Heater
The thing with Zoomed heaters is that you can't insulate over top of the heater, only around it. With the Ultratherms, you can put insulating material right over top.

Re: Heater
Not the same. The ones on the left that are called Repti Therm are made by Zoo Med. They can not be insulated over. They stick to the tank, and when peeled off (ie- to move to another tank or location), they can be damaged.
The ones on the right are the UltraTherm. They can be insulated over, and are attached with duct tape so they can be moved easily. Many people prefer them.

I leave mine on 24/7 and have never had a problem with overheating.

Re: Heater
I have mine plugged into a thermostat because I felt it was a little to hot at times within the tank over the summer but that’s my personal preference.Hermie escape artist wrote:They dont over heat do they ????
