What type of sand should I use and or is recommended to mix with coconut fiber?

Playsand. I think it is silicone based. I use one from Lowe’s but I think it is at Home Depot too.

I think coconut fiber helps keep it moist. Most people I think use more sand than ee.

Yep, most sands tend to be silicone based (silica - Silicone Dioxide, SiCO2) but you can get quartz based sands, which is commonly used in aquariums (and coral sand, which is calcium carbonate based....)

Wanna add my vote to silica play and mixed with coconut fiber. I used saltwater to mix it all up and provide a base layer of moisture.
