We vacationed in Florida recently and have a few buckets of beautiful white beach sand we brought home with us. Can I safely add this to our crabitat? I thought they might like it for the calcium or whatever else they eat in the substrate, thanks!

It is not recommended because there is no way for sure to be sure how harmful the sand can be. Because it can have many pollutants in it such as microplastics and chemical residues.
I use Quirkite playsand (believe that's how its spelled) from home depot and its only around $4 and change for a 50 pound bag
A 5:1 ratio of playsand to eco earth is recommended
You also mention calcium benefits. You can get a cuttlebone and crush it up for them in smaller pieces and leave it in the tank until gone or sprinkle it on their food for them. But be sure not to buy calcium sand or really any sand marketed for crabs as they can be harmful.

Thank you for the advice!! The cuttle bone is a great idea.
