Hello all,
I'm just curious about water conditions in my crabitat. I live in a colder climate, and I've noticed as the temperature has dropped, the temperature of my hermies' water has dropped as well. It was fine in the summer, but now it seems colder than usual. What is an acceptable water temperature for hermit crabs, and will they avoid bathing if it is too cold?
The temperature of the tank is riding around a constant 73-75 degrees with the help of a UTH. I use a sand and eco earth mixture as substrate. Humidity is generally 70-80 percent, but lately its been in the low range due to the cold weather. I suspect that the glass of the tank is contributing to the cold water, as the outside of the tank feels cool to the touch.

I don't think many of us measure the water temp. If your tank is a good temp, then your water is too.
You may want to add another UTH to boost the temp a little, then your water will be a bit warmer too.

To add on to what Curly said, water temp is the exact same temperature as its surroundings. If the tank is 73-75F, the water will be 73-75F. Keep in mind, water naturally feels cooler to us than air of the same temperature.
