Would this be an appropriate long-term tank?

I found a used TALL 10 gallon tank (It would fit beautifully where I want it) with dimensions 12in long by 12in wide and about 20in tall. I don't want crabs outgrowing it... how many at what size would be appropriate for long-term use? I saw the general size suggestion, but it isn't so much for tall tanks... Thanks. Need to know before I scrounge around for the funds to buy it.

Tall tanks support even less crabs because there's less floor space for molting and moving around, let alone space for water and food bowls. It would be comparable to a 5 gallon, which is really only appropriate for micro crabs for a couple of years max. There's no way to make it okay for long term use because the crabs will grow too large too quickly.
